The Midland Met Learning Campus
With an aim to create an inclusive learning environment, The Midland Met Learning Campus will establish a university presence in Smethwick, providing a new education and skills hub for the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital that covers training from entry-level to L7 skills.
Focusing on hard-to-reach groups such as those who are homeless, out of work, or refugees with transferable skills, the educational hub will help to diversify and upskill the workforce, creating a positive channel to employment in the NHS and beyond.
igloo is proud to be the development partner of Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBH) to deliver this BREEAM Outstanding accredited scheme.
Aligned with our priorities to work closely with local communities, key education providers, Sandwell MBC and the West Midlands Combined Authority, SWBH is working to create an equal and inclusive environment providing opportunities for all students, parents, staff, communities and visitors. The Learning Campus is set to become a flagship building that will form a gateway to the newly opened university hospital, which is delivering state of the art healthcare to the region.
SWBH is the lead client and freeholder, SMBC Towns Fund and the WMCA are the key project funders.
