Sammir Lingawi

Passionate about sustainable development and urban regeneration, Sammir joined igloo in 2016 as an Investment Manager. With over 17 years of experience in investment and real estate, he brings a wealth of knowledge in development finance, investment strategy, and business planning.

Sammir’s journey was driven by a fundamental belief: great places inspire people, uplift communities, and create long-term value, but securing the right type of capital to build them was a challenge. Recognising igloo as the world’s first sustainable real estate fund, Sammir saw an opportunity to work with a company that was overcoming these challenges and delivered genuine regeneration whilst also making financial returns for investors. A key aspect to his role involves cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with investors and partners to secure third party investment into igloo’s extensive pipeline of mixed-use developments.  

Before joining igloo, Sammir worked as an Investment Associate at a London-based private equity firm, funding large-scale residential developments across the UK. He also holds an MSc from the University of Oxford, where his dissertation explored how to mobilise private sector investment into urban regeneration.
