Impact report

Since day one, we have been on a mission to continuously improve the way we develop spaces, setting new standards for People, Place and Planet. Driven by our sector-leading Footprint® methodology, we work with like-minded partners and local authorities and engage with communities to create places that preserve heritage while meeting modern-day needs.

To ensure we continue to push the boundaries of development and lead transformative regeneration, it’s crucial that we measure and record our impact with transparency, to set industry benchmarks that can help shape the future of our towns and cities. For this reason, we’re thrilled to be launching our first Impact report!

While reporting isn’t new to us (we make sure to routinely report our community impact across each of our projects), this is the first time we’ve pulled it all together and presented it to the world, and we hope that the results and projects included spark inspiration and conversation around how we can strive to improve the way we develop urban spaces.

Peter Connolly, Chief Executive, said:

“This impact report, for the first time, showcases our tireless commitment to create happy, healthy and sustainable communities across the UK.

“With this report, through sharing our learnings along the way, our hope is to inspire an industry-wide movement towards a ‘better way’ to develop places, because we believe that change at the scale the world needs will only happen if we’re all pulling in the same direction.”

Maximising impact for People

One of our key goals for each of our regeneration projects is to change the perception of places. This has become a larger focus in recent years as suburban and forgotten parts of cities could help the spread of urban populations in highly saturated areas.

In 2023-2024, we invested £28.8M into the top 10% of most deprived neighbourhoods, helping to transform the reputation of places and drive further investment to the area.

Transforming urban Places

We’re proud that 100% of our developments across the past reporting year have created well-connected, urban brownfield. With a focus on foot and cycle pathways within our neighbourhoods, we have created pedestrian gateways to cities across the country.

Prioritising the Planet

While we prioritise sustainability in each of our developments, with 100% of our latest schemes holding EPC A ratings, we also ensure that we consciously develop with the planet in mind. In the last year, we’ve saved 8 tonnes of operational carbon in the homes we’ve delivered, which equated to over half a million tonnes in 60 years.
