Construction begins on next phases of Nottingham’s sustainable Fruit Market housing development

The award-winning Fruit Market housing development in Sneinton Market, Nottingham has entered phases 2 and 3 of construction, enabling the accelerated delivery of city centre homes.  

Phases 2 and 3 are being delivered by igloo Regeneration and will see the construction of 26 new homes clustered around two large communal gardens, providing attractive outdoor green spaces while still being in a central location within walking distance of amenities and public transport routes.  

The milestone follows the successful completion of Phase 1 which saw the sustainable, garden neighbourhood of 13 design led homes secure a national Housing Design Award for ‘Building for a Healthy Life’.

The development is positioned close to some of the city's best independent shops, leisure opportunities and cultural offerings and has already become a central part of the local area.

Phases 2 and 3 will continue the scheme’s sustainable ethos. The development is completely gas-free, utilising air source heat pumps, underfloor heating and high levels of thermal insulation to make the scheme one of the most energy-efficient and future proofed in the city.

Each of the phases has award winning custom-designed features and window patterns, breaking the mould of traditional city living, to be more attractive and community focused.  

The launch of Phases 2 and 3 will significantly strengthen the development as a thriving community neighbourhood.

This milestone coincides with igloo introducing its rental offer alongside homes for sale, designed to diversify the community and improve housing accessibility in the city centre. With strong interest already shown in the Fruit Market properties, upon completion, Phases 2 and 3 are expected to be fully occupied.
